Classes Fall 2025 – Register below, or for the two beginner classes, at the Swedish Cultural Center.
All classes are taught via zoom online and recorded when needed. All classes meet 9 times during a quarter. As part of the classwork we watch Swedish TV shows (mostly translated), read Swedish books in addition to the regular instructional books. You only do what you have time for, never be overwhelmed! If you are unsure of which class is your level, you are welcome to try a class or two the first week of classes. If you´re having a difficult time finding a particular book please contact me at [email protected] and I will help you. You can join any class any time and get a prorated rate.
Mondays Fall classes Sep 29-Nov 24.
5-6:30 PM PT Svenska C1. This class is for you who have studied Swedish several years. Reading Offermakaren by Viveca Sten, translated vocabulary. Grammar exercises from Mål 3 Övningsbok.
7-8:30 PM PT Svenska C2. This class is almost completely in Swedish. Reading Väninnorna på Nordiska Kompaniet by Ruth Kvarnström-Jones. Grammar and vocabulary exercises will be provided.
Tuesdays Fall classes Sep 30-Nov 25 in cooperation with the Swedish Club.
Wednesdays Fall classes start Sep 24 through SGA and October 1 in cooperation with the Swedish Club.
5-6:30 PM PT Svenska B Sep 24 – Nov 20. This class is for you who have studied Swedish a couple of years. Grammar exercises will be provided. We will be reading Mannen på taket (easy to read version) by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö.
Fridays Fall classes Sep 19-Nov 21.
10-11:30 AM PT Svenska B1. This class is for you that studied Swedish for several years. Grammar exercises provided. Reading TBD.
12-1 PM PT Advanced Conversation. In this class we try to only speak Swedish. We talk about current local events in Sweden, happenings in our lives and everything else.
1:30-2:30 Beginner Conversation.
