Swedish Global Academy
Catharina Lundin

I was born and raised in Sweden, where I earned a master's degree in engineering from Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (KTH). Swedish and history were always my favorite subjects in school. At 17, I spent a year as an exchange student in upstate New York — my first taste of sharing my language and culture with Americans.

After college, I started my career at Ericsson. My husband and I later spent a few years in McLean, Virginia, where I earned my MBA at George Mason University, before we settled in Sammamish, Washington over twenty years ago.

Not long after moving to Sammamish, I started volunteering — and then working — at Svenska Skolföreningen i Seattle (skolforeningen.org), eventually becoming its principal over the 17 years I was there. About 12 years ago I began teaching Swedish for Rosetta Stone, then joined The Swedish Club NW as a Swedish teacher in January 2016. Swedish Global Academy is the next step: bringing everything I've learned across those years into a school of my own.
